I’m Hazel. I wrote my first book in third grade, Reggie Excapes, about a sea turtle who escapes his doom of becoming a makeup case. These days, I write happier books about humans falling in love and their stumbling stories toward happily ever after. I also now use spellcheck.

Born and raised just outside Salt Lake City, Utah, I’m surrounded by shifting seasons, mountain views, and my sweet family. I have two sons, two daughters, and a husband who can turn chaos into calm.

Other loves include my dog, Elizabeth Bennet, fresh notebooks, and reading. Confrontations are not my thing, but I give a decent pep talk!
